Description of service

Solutions is a 4 step model for primary care mental health. This team focus on the social inclusion and recovery of people with mild to moderate mental health conditions aged 18 or over. Referral needed from GP for step 2 & 3. 

Step 1:  Staying Well Self Help Courses which will receive direct referrals from clients & GP`s.  3+ 1 sessions with The Graduate Mental Health Workers.  Also The Community Development Worker are networking and promoting mental health for the Black, Asian & Ethnic Minority Groups.

Step 2:  Offering rapid assessment and signposting to other third sector services, other steps within Solutions or Secondary Care. There is a limited amount of brief counselling (6 sessions) undertaken using a variety of approaches.

Step 3:  Therapeutic group work and there is a limited amount of intermediate counselling (12-15 sessions) undertaken using a variety of approaches.

Step 4:  Step 4ward enables the management of people with serious mental illness to be transferred from Secondary Care in NELFT to Waltham Forest Primary Care Teams.
