The Freedom of Information Act 2000

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 is now fully in force. It gives a general right of access to any member of the public to all types of recorded information held by the Trust on how we carry out our duties, make decisions and spend public money etc.

NELFT's Publication Scheme

The Freedom of Information Act required every NHS organisation to have a publication scheme in place by October 2003.

The Publication Scheme lets citizens know what information each NHS organisation publishes - they cover our plans, management arrangements, performance, inspection reports, policies and procedures and minutes of key meetings.

How to make a request

Requests must be made in writing, e-mail or fax and must include your name and address for correspondence and a description of the information requested. Under the Act, the Trust has 20 working days to respond to requests.

Data Protection Act 1998

The Data Protection Act 1998 gives individuals a right to see their personal information held by public authorities. This includes paper records and those held on computer.
