How we help staff

The Practice Improvement Team facilitates a number of Forums to support clinical staff in providing meaningful and effective care (e.g. Monthly Clinical Lead and Nurse Forums). These forums are also an opportunity for staff to share ideas of good practice. We organise Regular Nursing events where Nurses within the Trust come together to focus on specific issues affecting practice within the Multi disciplinary Team (MDT-a group of Healthcare Professionals from various different backgrounds).

We provide specific support around the development and maintenance of effective clinical supervision systems for Nursing Practice throughout NELFT.

In addition we provide support to all clinical teams in NELFT as part of the ongoing Service User and Carer Standards audit and implementation programme and as part of the Star Wards and Productive Ward improvement Programmes in all NELFT Acute and Rehabilitation Wards.

We also work in close collaboration with the Training and Development Department to provide short term continuous professional development courses to MDT staff to keep them up to date with current best practice.
