The nutrition and dietetic service offers expert nutritional advice in a variety of community and healthcare settings. Registered dietitians provide individual therapeutic dietary advice to patients who require special diets as part of medical treatment. The team aims to prevent ill health and improve the overall health of individuals by translating scientific information about food into practical dietary advice.

Services provided include:

• one-to-one clinics in health centres, covering a range of specialities including type 1 and type 2 diabetes, lipid lowering, allergies, IBS, nutrition support and weight management
• visits to nursing homes across the borough
• domiciliary and community visits
• paediatric services, adult services and community based
• oncology and palliative care
• health promotion
• weight management group education sessions for patients
• conversation map and DAFNE programmes for patients with diabetes
• MUST training for health professionals
