The special needs school nursing service provides specialist and holistic care for children with special needs in Special School and support for their families and carers. Specialist paediatric nurses and other staff provide support in a school/ educational environment to support every child to reach their full potential.

We focus on early intervention and prevention, as well as promoting wellbeing to support every child to reach their full potential. A holistic approach is taken to ensure individual personalised care for children/young people and support for their families and carers.

Newbridge Special School has a primary and secondary campus:

Nokwazi Kumalo, Carol Gentle and Elaine Thompson are the School Nurses based at The Grove, Grove Road, Chadwell Heath, RM6 4XH. 

Nokwazi is primarily the school nurse for children aged 3-11 years who attend Newbridge Gresham Drive Campus who have moderate to profound learning difficulties including complex medical needs, life limiting and life threatening conditions.

Carol is primarily the school nurse for young people aged 11-19 years who attend Newbridge Barley Lane Campus who have moderate to profound learning difficulties including complex medical needs, life limiting and life threatening conditions.

Elaine is the school nurse for children and young people on role at Hatton, Little Heath, New Rush Hall and the Beacon Communication School.
