Healthy Two Year Olds and Getting Ready for School
As part of getting children ready for school health visitors and community nursery nurses complete an assessment with parents on their child’s health, well being and development. This is called health review 2. It is done between the age of 2 and 2½ years.
A questionnaire called ASQ 3 (which can be accessed here https://foundationyears.org.uk/2014/09/asq-3-tm-and-reviews-for-children-aged-2-2-12/) is sent to all parents. Parents are to complete this before attending the appointment with the health visitor. It is useful as it supports parents understanding of their child’s development and the expected miles stones they are to achieve between 2- 2½. Parents are advised to share the outcome of the assessment with education.
