Anthony Machar

Anthony Machar

My name is Anthony Machar, I started working for NELFT in 2008 January as an HCA, but seconded to train as a nurse at London South Bank University in 2008, qualified in 2011, since then, I have grown from RGN Band 5 to Night Coordinator Band 7. I am working night shifts, working independently covering two hospitals, BCH and Mayfield unit which I am enjoying. I make wise decisions that will benefit patients, staff and the NHS (NELFT). I have a variety of experiences that will be needed in this role. I have done Quality improvement, Cognitive behaviour therapy, Advanced Assessment Skills, Nursing Older People to mention a few, currently, I am doing my MSc Advanced Nurse Practitioner.

The reason for becoming a governor is that I am a motivator, a good listener, hardworking person and reliable, a role model, every body's person who anyone can access at any time. A person who goes out of his way to help or assist others. A person who wants to serve and bring good things to his community and the trust, I want to be the voice of the people. I have done quality Improvement for the trust and I have used this training to turn things around such as reducing pressure ulcer developing in the hospital ward, how to assess skin when patient is being admitted to the ward. I have trained student nurses and some junior doctors that come to the ward, I have received some positive feedback from some of the Universities. I can make positive decision for the community and the trust. I have the zeal to bring out positive in a person, I take what I do seriously.
