Public information - Children and Young People’s Mental Health Early Intervention Services (North East Essex)

Change of service provider
From 1 April 2018, NELFT will be providing the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Early Intervention Services (CYP MHEIS) in North East Essex.

CYP MHEIS is an easy to access early intervention emotional well-being service for children and young people aged from age 10-18 years (up to 25-years of age if SEND).

The service will provide emotional support through a range of interventions suited to the individual needs of children and young people. The aim is to improve emotional wellbeing, emotional intelligence, resilience and self-esteem for children, young people, their families and carers and develop community resilience.

Transition phase
NELFT will be working in partnership with the incumbent provider (Mind Mid and North East Essex) to ensure a smooth transition of services. Please note that NELFT will take full control on 1 April.

Who will this impact?

Children and Young people who have been previously referred to MIND and Youth Enquiry Service (YES), for an early intervention emotional well-being service. This also applies to people identified with special or additional educational needs and disabilities (SEND) up to 25 years of age.

How to raise concerns?

If you are a young person and you are concerned that your situation is deteriorating please contact our Single Point of Access team to discuss.

If you are a parent/carer and you are concerned about your child’s situation deteriorating please contact our Single Point of Access to discuss.

Date of transfer

The service will be transferring to NELFT on 1 April 2018.

The referral information will be reviewed to ensure that appropriate care is in place.  

Will this delay my access to care?

This will not delay your access to care. The referral will be reviewed by NELFT following transfer and you will be contacted to arrange the next step.

Does my GP need to re-refer?

Your information will be transferred to us from the current provider and therefore your GP will not need to re-refer.

Where will I be seen?

This will be dependent on individual need and choice.
