CPD Events and Courses
NELFT Medical education department run monthly CPD programmes throughout the year which include: The Faculty Development Programme, Multi Professional CPD Programme and the SAS CPD Programme.
The NELFT CPD Series, is a multi-professional teaching programme with dedicated specialty afternoons including General Adult, Older Adult, Intellectual Disabilities and Paediatrics & CAMHS. Most recent courses have included Sleep Disorders, ADHD in adults, FASD Training and Frailty, delivered by renowned speakers in their specialised fields.
The SAS CPD programme is for all Trust Grade doctors, and the programme has been developed in line with the SAS Charter to provide training to further support the needs of SAS doctors. This includes topics from external and internal training providers and recent courses have included Statement and Report Writing, Preparing for CESR and Building professional resilience.
Faculty Development programmes for Consultants and Higher Trainees, covers topics such as Core skills for educators, Mentoring & Coaching, Difficult conversations and giving good feedback. These courses encompass the Professional Development Framework for Educators and cover the 7 framework areas.
Twice a year in spring and autumn we deliver Mental Health Act Courses which incorporate:
- Approved Clinician Introductory Course (2 day)
- Approved Clinician Refresher (1 day)
- Section 12 Introductory Course (2 day)
- Section 12 Refresher Course (1 day)
There is a dedicated events and conference team who organise national and local conferences.
