How to refer to our service
If your child is of pre-school age, please discuss your concerns with your health visitor, GP, nursery staff, or paediatrician initially. They may be able to provide general advice and can help with deciding if an OT referral is needed.
If your child is of school age, please discuss your concerns with your child`s class teacher, paediatrician or other professional working with them. The school may be able to help your child already, since we are working closely with schools and provide training and support for school staff. If your child’s needs cannot be met through usual school provision, they can then make a referral.
If your child has more complex needs which might include a specific medical diagnosis, or if you would like to discuss if a referral to an occupational therapist is appropriate, you can contact us directly on 0300 300 1566 or via the details below.
All referrals are sent to the Children’s Single Point of Access (CSPA), where referrals are discussed by a team of professionals from the Integrated Therapy Team. This ensures that your child is seen by the most appropriate team within our service and jointly with other therapy services if appropriate.
