Cold weather alert for Essex and London

The Met Office has issued a Cold Weather Alert Level 3 for Essex and London. A Level 3 alert is issued when a mean temperature of 2°C is expected to last for at least 48 hours and an impact on people’s health is expected.

The weather will be cold with low daytime temperatures and overnight frost, with scattered, mainly light sleet and snow showers. It will most likely turn less cold from Monday.

The NELFT Cold Weather Plan details the steps services should be taking to reduce the risks to health from cold weather for at-risk groups include older people and people with pre-existing medical conditions, as well as those with health, housing or economic circumstances.
