A number of NELFT and Provide services relocated some of their services to a new building space, Stapleford House in Chelmsford, a short distance from the town centre. This new building offers more local residents the ability to access multiple services across organisations in one location.
Service users were involved throughout the building consultation and their feedback was incorporated into important decisions throughout, as well as choosing the artwork for the waiting area and consultation areas.
NELFT-EWMHS services that have relocated are:
Mid-Essex Intensive Support Service
EWMHS Learning Disability Team
Mid Essex EWMHS Hub Team
Staff were delighted to see the building ahead of opening their doors, unique spaces with sky lighting for some consultation rooms with no natural light and aquatic themed artwork throughout the building giving patients a peaceful place to receive treatment.
Sharon Hall, Head of EWMHS spoke about the new building saying:
"Everyone involved in this project has been committed to delivering a building fit for purpose for both the Children, young people and families accessing services in this building and staff delivering services. Watching staff and service user’s positive reactions to the building over the past week has made all the work involved very worthwhile."
