We are delighted to announce our interim chief executive, Professor Oliver Shanley OBE, has formally taken up his role with NELFT. Oliver joined the Trust at the start of July and took on the role from our former chief executive John Brouder on 11 July 2019. He joins the Trust from his previous role as regional chief nurse for London with NHS England and NHS Improvement and will be in post until the end of the financial year.
Joe Fielder, NELFT chair, said “Firstly I would like to sincerely thank John for his dedication and commitment to our NELFT staff and patients during his many years leading the Trust and wish him well in his new endeavor working as an advisor to the NHS in the London region on workforce race equality. I am pleased Oliver is joining us as the interim chief executive. As a mental health nurse Oliver is extremely well placed to lead the organisation, and will bring a fantastic system wide perspective to the role.”
Oliver Shanley, NELFT interim chief executive, said “I am excited to join such an innovative and collaborative organisation and am grateful to all staff and partners who have already extended such a warm welcome. During my time here it is my role to ensure we continue to work together to deliver the best possible outcomes for our patients and communities.”
