To help mark the NHS’s 70th birthday, the NHS has teamed up with parkrun UK to jointly host NHS70 parkrun day on Saturday 9 June.
The parkruns were launched nationally by double Olympic gold medallist Dame Kelly Holmes and are totally free, 5km events that take place in hundreds of locations across the UK every Saturday morning. They are coordinated entirely by volunteers and are open to walkers and runners of all ages and abilities.
There are currently more than 200 parkruns signed up to be part of NHS70 parkrun day - with more expected to join. Please contact your local parkrun to get involved and don’t forget to register. There are events across the NELFT area of London, Essex and Kent.
