Sue Burke, Acting Head of Integrated Community Services in Basildon and Brentwood has been given the prestigious title of Queen’s Nurse (QN) by The Queen’s Nursing Institute (QNI).
The Queen's Nurse title is an award for an individual’s commitment to high standards of patient care, and to learning and leadership. Nurses who hold the title benefit from developmental workshops, bursaries, networking opportunities, and a shared professional identity.
The QN community links together nationally, community health professionals who are committed to high quality care for patients, who earn patients’ trust and respect and who are role models for nursing staff.
The QN title is an effective way to encourage good patient care and improvements to services. It is also a boost to the moral and profile of the individual health professional. The Queen’s Nurses have a high profile with national nursing leaders and contribute to the QNI’s work on innovation in practice. NELFT is very proud to have Queen's Nurses amongst its staff as this is a visible sign not only to our commitment to valuing and supporting staff but to providing quality services.
The title of Queen’s Nurse is open to community nurses with more than three years’ experience. For more information about the award please visit: www.qni.org.uk/for_nurses/queens_nurses
