Waltham Forest infant Feeding team achieves UNICEF Stage One Accreditation

We are delighted to announce that our Waltham Forest 0-19 service, along with partners HENRY and Lloyd Park Children Centres, have recently achieved the UNICEF baby friendly initiative stage one. They are also working collaboratively to attain stage two by September 2019.

Our goal is to increase rates of breast feeding, support safe formula feeding and the introduction of solid foods. We also want to promote positive family bonding and attachment, with a focus on providing a welcoming environment for breastfeeding mothers, and the non - advertisement of of breast milk substitutes.

We have a comprehensive training curriculum for both clinical and non-clinical staff. This includes ongoing practice based reviews and support to all staff across the 0 -19 service.

This award acknowledges the hard work of the infant feeding team and partnerships including attaining the required standards.

If you would like to get in touch with our service to find out how we can support you and your family please visit website https://www.nelft.nhs.uk/services-wf-0-19-universal-childrens or email the Infant feeding team on InfantFeedingWF@nelft.nhs.uk

Congratulations to everyone involved.
