We’re celebrating Working Forward on International Women’s Day

The world celebrates International Women’s Day on Wednesday 8 March. It is a time to champion the social, political and economic successes of women around the globe, to reflect on the progress made and to acknowledge the challenges faced in the drive for gender equality.

As a proud member of Working Forward, we know that pregnancy and maternity can be a crucial time in any woman’s career and are committed to supporting new parents in our workplace.

NELFT is one of 100 businesses that have signed up to the Government-backed initiative since it launched in September, forming a coalition of like-minded organisations working together and sharing best practice to ensure employees have the most positive experience possible.

To celebrate this milestone, we are sharing ‘thank yous’ from working mothers and their families. Watch what happens below when the kids take charge: https://youtu.be/otQ6x9ORfEg

NELFT Equality and Diversity Manager Harjit K Bansal said: “Today as part of International Women’s Day, we need to celebrate the achievements women have made in the world, but also pledge to carry on fighting for discriminatory practices experienced by girls and women.”
