St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub Public consultation

St George's Public Consultation

Following a rigorous, in depth prioritisation exercise by the NHS, the St George’s Health & Wellbeing Hub (H&WH) in Hornchurch, Essex has been determined as the highest priority for North East London (NEL) as documented in the STP’s Strategic Estates Strategy.

It enables renal dialysis services to vacate the hospital and create essential space to expand emergency services. It is also essential to the establishment of a Frailty Hub that will also reduce emergency attendances and support the reduction in admissions of the elderly and frail. Without the additional capacity provided by the H&WH, Queen’s Hospital will not have enough space to provide adequate emergency.

The proposed service model for St George’s H&WH was agreed by the Clinical Services Group on the 8th October 2020 and ratified by the Project Board on the 19th October 2020.

The planning consultation took place in April 2021. An online public exhibition was held between 1 April and 20 April 2021 with an online feedback questionnaire. 86% of respondents (81% strongly support and 5% mildly support) support the provision of the proposed new Health and Wellbeing Hub at the St George’s site.

Following on from the planning consultation in April 2021 the public consultation on services moving to the Hub will launch on the 1st August 2021 and will run for 4 weeks.
