Collaborative working with Safeguarding Services

Safeguarding is an integral part of providing high-quality health care.  Safeguarding means protecting peoples' health, well-being and human rights, and enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect. The Clinical Audit & NICE Team is working collaboratively with NELFT’s Safeguarding team, undertaking projects to improve quality and provide assurance.

Snapshot of recent safeguarding audit projects in progress, are as follows:

  1. Quality of Safeguarding Supervision 2022 - Audit aims to look at the safeguarding supervision which is being offered across the trust to ensure it reaches the standards expected and are in accordance with the safeguarding supervision policy to ensure NELFT practitioners have the opportunity to  discuss children where there are safeguarding concerns.
  2. Service evaluation of Qualitative advice given by the Safeguarding Service 2022 - Audit aims to ensure that callers to the advice service are receiving relevant up to date advice with regards to concern and risk.  The objective is to review and change any processes following the audit.
  3. Quality of Referrals to Adults and Children Social Care 2022 - Audit aims to identify any quality issues in referrals, measure outcomes for clients following referrals, identify any gaps or learning share with ICDs.
