"Leading for Improvement" at NELFT

NELFT has successfully completed the first cohort of its "Leading for Improvement" training programme, aimed at equipping senior clinical and managerial leaders with Quality Improvement (QI) skills. Running from October 2024 to February 2025, the programme combined theory, reflective practice, and real-world coaching to embed QI into everyday leadership.Discover what our leaders had to say and read reflections from our CEO, Paul Calaminus.

From stigma to support - early intervention and mental health awareness

Data from Power BI shows there is a disparity between the number of school referrals made for male and female students for one-to-one and targeted groups interventions, within the South-East locality.  This led Claire to initiate a Quality Improvement (QI) Project aimed at engaging more boys in therapeutic interventions (TI). The outcomes of the project led to a significant increase in referrals from 4% to 50%.

Transforming Heart Failure Care: Pharmacist-Led Clinic Saves £70,000

The Pharmacist led Heart Failure clinic was a project undertaken in Barking & Dagenham for 6 months, by Wajid Qureshi and team. Faced with increasing workload, workforce, and capacity pressures, the project aimed to reduce the time required to titrate patients’ medications to the maximum tolerated dose. The key innovation was the introduction of a Senior Pharmacist to conduct dose titration clinics on behalf of NELFT.
