The purpose of the Intermediate Care (IMC) community hospital beds is to provide a rehabilitation service for patients who need 24-hour health care but do not need the services of an acute hospital diagnostics or multi specialist care.

Patient’s will have access and may be supported by any member of the multidisciplinary team which includes Doctors, Nurses, Integrated Care Assistants, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Therapy Assistants and Pharmacists.

These units are for patients who are unable to achieve their rehabilitation goals effectively or safely in their own home environment with a community service.
