The Macmillan Community Children’s Nurse Specialists service is available to children, young people and their families in South West and South East Essex.

Children’s palliative care embraces physical, emotional, social and spiritual aspects of wellbeing, focussing on enhancing the quality of life for the child ensuring they are free from distressing symptoms and providing support for their family at home or in a community setting. 

The primary aim of the Macmillan Community Children’s Nurse Specialist is to provide evidence based care and support for children, young people and their families who have been diagnosed with cancer or have complex palliative care needs thus reducing the emotional and psychological effects of the child or young person’s condition
