Sunflowers Court inpatient unit - Picasso ward
Picasso Ward is a 23 bedded inpatient mental health assessment Unit for mixed adults aged 18 years old and over. The service assesses and cares for adults suffering from acute mental health problems who are in crisis and cannot be safely cared for in the community. The service aim to complete all assessment within 7 days and a decision can be made to either discharge or to transfer to other treatment wards. The service also helps to screen and manage Covid 19 infections as per government guidelines for all service users. The team comprises of 2 consultant psychiatrists and Junior Doctors, Senior and junior nurses, Health care support workers, an occupational therapist, Social worker, a psychologist and a pharmacist.
The service has a consultant 7 days a week.
The service works in collaboration with other services and uses a holistic therapeutic approach to support patients to recovery, through focusing on activities involving daily living skills.
