It’s a challenge to stop smoking, especially if you have been smoking for a while. To make it a bit easier and mark WHO’s World No Tobacco Day we’re sharing these tips from Stop Smoking London.

The theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is anxiety. Anxiety is a normal emotion in us all, but sometimes it can get out of control and become a mental health problem.

Next week marks Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week, a week-long campaign dedicated to talking about mental health problems before, during and after pregnancy.

The North East London Foundation Trust provides Talking Therapies for people over the age of 18 and registered with a GP across the London Boroughs of Havering, Redbridge, Barking and Dagenham and Waltham Forest. April is Stress Awareness Month and the North East London Foundation Trust is raising awareness of 5 steps people can take to improve mental health and wellbeing.

The North East London Foundation Trust and the University of East London have launched an innovative partnership to help students in healthcare professions gain valuable experience in entry level NHS jobs.

The partnership offers flexible work opportunities on the NELFT Staff Bank to those studying to qualify in nursing or allied health professions, and the ability to work around their studies and gain valuable experience in a variety of clinical settings.

A community nurse from Waltham Forest has been recognised by the NELFT for working tirelessly to ensure people with learning disabilities were vaccinated against COVID-19.

Mohammad Soobhun won the Chair’s Special Recognition award and was highly commended in the Outstanding Achievement category at the Make a Difference Awards last month. 

A school nurse from Dagenham has been recognised by the North East London Foundation Trust for her exemplary work in safeguarding young people.

Titilayo Idowu won in the Working in the Partnership category at the Make a Difference Awards at NELFT last month.
