Wednesday 5 July the NHS marks 75 years of service. The organisation and its partners will celebrate this milestone by showcasing the best of the NHS. We're celebrating this milestone through various events and encouraging everyone to join in with NHS 75 activities.

David Bowen, one of our non-executive directors, will be leaving the Trust on Friday (30 June) after deciding to step down from his position earlier in the year.

As part of Cervical Screening Awareness Week NELFT is urging women and people with a cervix between the ages of 25 and 64, invited by their GP, to go for a regular cervical screening.

Did you know that we are a Veteran Aware Accredited Trust, and as such, we have a good awareness and an understanding of the healthcare needs of the local Armed Forces Community.

On 6 June a lovely team of volunteers from the waste management company, Veolia, volunteered their time to support the Health Way Foundation, NELFT’s charity.  Veolia kindly offer their staff members corporate volunteer days which allow the staff time to go and make a difference within their local community.

The Longitude Prize on Dementia drives the creation of personalised, technology based tools that are co-created with people living with dementia, helping them continue to live fulfilling lives, doing the things they enjoy.

It is Pulmonary Rehabilitation (PR) Week (19-23 June 2023).  Pulmonary Rehabilitation is provided by Respiratory services across mid and south Essex. There are many benefits to Pulmonary Rehabilitation; it can reduce the time people spend in hospital and improve the breathing and wellbeing of people with lung disease.

NELFT has appointed Paul Calaminus as our new substantive Chief Executive. Paul is expected to join the Trust in early summer. He is currently the Chief Executive of east London NHS Foundation Trust.

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSEFT) has been working with partners across the Integrated Care System to put forward a bid for funding for a Community Diagnostic Centre.
