NELFT today, 26 August 2022, welcomed the publication of the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) report into our services following the Well-Led Review earlier in the year. We are delighted with the new overall rating of ‘Good’ as this reflects the improvements we have made to move from our previous ‘Requires Improvement’ rating.

The Friends of Goodmayes, a charitable association consisting of several retired volunteers, came into operation shortly after the opening of Goodmayes Hospital in 1901. After over 100 years of service, the Friends of Goodmayes made an incredible donation of over £60,000 to the Heath Way Foundation, NELFT’s charity that funds projects that aim to ‘help patients access the best possible care when they need it the most’.

With the launch of Corringham approaching over the coming months, the team recently invited Councillor’s Deborah Huelin and Shane Ralph from Thurrock Local Council on a site tour of the space to see the new facility and showcase the community-focused new build. For many families in Kent receiving care through Children and Adolescents Mental Health Services (CAMHS), the process of supporting Children and Young People (CYP) can present highly challenging issues.
