Francis Fernando is an Assistant Director of nursing and quality at NELFT and is a top ten finalist in the inaugural Aster Guardians Global Nurses Award, short listed from the initial 24,000 applications from 184 countries.

We are delighted to announce that Sue Lees has been appointed as Acting Vice Chair of our NELFT Board. Sue takes up the position from Sultan Taylor, who is currently our Acting Chair. The recommendation was made by the Nominations Committee and ratified by our Council of Governors.

The MSECC Respiratory Workstream saw the first of three Spirometry Diagnostic Units arrive on Monday 11 April at Rochford Community Hospital. EPUT colleagues were excited to see the unit arrive and two further units will be delivered to Provide and NELFT venues in the coming months.

Recently, the very first cohort of staff from across all Thurrock partner organisations toured the newly built Corringham Integrated Medical Centre (IMC) building to see first-hand the great work that’s taken place to build a new and dynamic health and care facility aimed at providing community solutions and wellbeing initiatives as well as a range of different services.

We are delighted to announce that as of 1 April 2022, Sultan Taylor is our acting Chair here at NELFT. Sultan takes on this role following the departure of Joe Fielder and steps into the position having been our Non-Executive Director and Vice Chair.

On Thursday, 31March, representatives from NELFT attended the Healthwatch Awards Ceremony - This event – in its first year – celebrated the best in health & social care in Kent & Medway. 200 guests came together to recognise the achievements, and shared ideas that can be employed in work across the region.

On Thursday 17 March 2022, A Good Night’s Sleep: Learning from Autistic young people, a co-production project developed in collaboration between NELFT Emotional Wellbeing Teams (EWT) in Kent, University College London (UCL) and autistic young people, launched at Rowhill School in Dartford.

The latest annual NHS staff survey results show that our Trust achieved the best score nationally for staff feeling that they were trusted to do their job, as well as being above the national average in our compassion, inclusivity, and diversity.
