Last week, a group of children from the local Graham James Primary School visited the Corringham Integrated Medical Centre (IMC) site to make their mark on the new building. The mark in question was a series of hand paintings across the dividing screens in the reception area.

Recently, the second of three purpose-built Spirometry Diagnostic Units arrived at Kestrel House in Chelmsford. Delivered on behalf of the Mid and South Essex Community Collaborative (MSECC), these cabins are innovative modular units designed to deliver testing and diagnosis of respiratory conditions across mid and south Essex.

Colleagues from NELFT joined several partners at an event as part of Mental Health Awareness Day on Thursday 12 May at the Mercury Centre in Romford.

There will be some essential work to replace the control panel and door operator for the lift at Hainault Health Centre, this will mean that the lift will be out of service for at least three weeks. 

George Shippey is a bright and fun teenager who developed Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) at a young age. With the help of NELFT colleagues going the extra mile, George received a high spec wheelchair to cater for his current and future growth needs.

Silobile Moyo, is an Occupational Therapist working in Waltham Forest as a Community Rehabilitation Lead. At the start of this year, she and some of her Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Assistant colleagues kindly donated some toys and books to children at Alpha Primary School, in Fort Rixon, Zimbabwe. 

Coping Through Football’ is a mental health project delivered in partnership between NELFT, London Playing Fields Foundation and Leyton Orient Trust.

Francis Fernando is an Assistant Director of nursing and quality at NELFT and is a top ten finalist in the inaugural Aster Guardians Global Nurses Award, short listed from the initial 24,000 applications from 184 countries.

We are delighted to announce that Sue Lees has been appointed as Acting Vice Chair of our NELFT Board. Sue takes up the position from Sultan Taylor, who is currently our Acting Chair. The recommendation was made by the Nominations Committee and ratified by our Council of Governors.

n Wednesday 13 April, the OT teams across Knight and Turner wards at Sunflowers Court inpatient unit in Goodmayes, hosted an Easter celebration for all. 

NELFT has been awarded the Veteran Aware Accreditation for our continuously dedicated work as an employer and as healthcare provider to the members of the Armed forces and their families.

The MSECC Respiratory Workstream saw the first of three Spirometry Diagnostic Units arrive on Monday 11 April at Rochford Community Hospital. EPUT colleagues were excited to see the unit arrive and two further units will be delivered to Provide and NELFT venues in the coming months.
