Preschool

Criteria:

• 2 years – primary school age
• At least 12 month delay in speech, language and communication development
• Anyone with concerns regarding a preschool aged child’s speech, language and communication can make a referral to this service eg. GP, nursery, Health visitor, parent etc.

Primary school age

Criteria:

• Child should be attending a school in Havering (there may be some exceptions to this with regards to home educated children or children out of education for other reasons, please contact us directly to discuss) 
• Referrals for children at school age are made directly by the school with the link Speech and Language Therapist.
• Referrals for children of school age are NOT accepted from any other professional apart from the educational setting (with the exception of certain Specialist services, please contact for more details) 

Secondary school age

Criteria:

• Child should be attending s secondary school in Havering (there may be some exceptions to this with regards to home educated children or children out of education for other reasons, please contact us directly to discuss) 
• Any child who is Year 7 – 6th form college
• Anyone with concerns regarding a secondary school aged child’s speech, language and communication can make a referral to this service eg. School, Parents, school nurse etc.

Feeding and swallowing

Criteria:

• 0 – 19 years old
• Service is suitable for a child who may have feeding difficulties such as developing age-appropriate feeding skills, having difficulties managing food/drink in the mouth, or may have challenges swallowing safely
• Anyone with concerns regarding a child’s feeding can make a referral to this service eg. GP, nursery, Health visitor, parent.
