The children’s community physiotherapy team provides physiotherapy intervention for children and young people up to the age of 19 with long term and non acute conditions which are best met in a community care setting. The team provides physiotherapy assessment, treatment and advice to children and young people who have difficulties or conditions which affect their movement, development and/or function.

In addition, the team provides specialist paediatric orthotic assessment, advice, provision and monitoring of orthoses (e.g. splints, specialist footwear and helmets). The team works closely with children and their families/carers to help them to achieve their best possible potential. This includes working in various settings including special schools, mainstream schools, nurseries, clinics and children’s homes.
