Child and adolescent speech and language therapy (SALT)
The speech and language therapy service provides specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of communications and/or feeding and swallowing difficulties for people up to the age of 19. The team works with parents, carers, early years practitioners, schools and other healthcare professionals to create a supportive environment for the development of communication skills.
The service supports children and young people who are displaying:
- voice disorders
- language difficulties
- speech and sound difficulties
- eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties
- delayed language and communication

Referrals are accepted from parents/guardians and health, education and social care professionals. A specialist children's service referral fom must be completed, and signed consent from parent/guardian to share information must be provided.
