If you are an adult and are uncertain whether you are a carrier of sickle cell disease, thalassemia, or any unusual haemoglobin variants, please contact your GP to arrange testing. Please ask your GP for a test called haemoglobinopathy electrophoresis, which will help determine your genotype.

• South East Essex (including Southend, Canvey Island, Benfleet, and Rochford)
• Mid Essex (including Chelmsford and Braintree)
• North East Essex (including Colchester and Clacton)
