AccessAble and NELFT NHS Foundation Trust Accessibility Guide

NELFT has worked with AccessAble to create Detailed Access Guides to facilities, wards, and departments at all its sites across the London Boroughs of Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Barking & Dagenham, Havering, and Essex and Kent.

The Guides provide facts, figures and photographs to help patients, visitors and staff plan their journeys to and around the sites, covering everything from parking facilities and hearing loops, to walking distances and accessible toilets.

We know everyone’s accessibility needs are different, which is why having detailed, accurate information is so important. It’s why all of the details you’ll find in the Guide have been checked in person, on site, by trained surveyors.

Anna Nelson, Chief Executive of AccessAble, said:

“We are delighted to partner with NELFT, prioritising accessibility and patient experience, recognising how crucial detailed access information is for disabled patients, visitors and staff. I would like to express my thanks to NELFT for championing the provision of hospital accessibility information, making visits less anxious, uncertain and difficult for disabled people.”

Lynne Harbour, Estates Secretary at NELFT said:

“The Estates Team at NELFT use the information provided by AccessAble to ensure our sites are easily accessible to all disabled people, whether hearing impaired or physically disabled. Once a year surveyors visit to assess the majority of our sites so that a guide can be produced and made available online. The guide gives detailed information which helps the visitor to prepare in advance for their visit. There are facts, figures and photographs to assist the user as much as possible.”

You can view the NELFTAccessibility Guide here: https://www.accessable.co.uk/nelft-nhs-foundation-trust. It is also available via the AccessAble App which is free to download from the App Store and Google Play, giving you accessibility information at your fingertips during your clinic / hospital visit.

The information provided on NELFT NHS Foundation Trust sites, joins over 70,000 places already covered across the UK, making www.AccessAble.co.uk a great tool not only for planning a hospital visit, but also a day out or trip away.
