Call NHS 111, Option 2 for Urgent Mental Health Support

Image of an illustration of a person holding their legs with scribbles round their head - writing says 'If you are overwhelmed and feel you can't cope, you can contact your local mental health crisis line. Call NHS 111, select option 2.

NELFT, along with East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT) and partners across north east London, are working together to ensure that service users experiencing mental health crises can access support via NHS 111, a freephone number that provides urgent health advice 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to people of all ages.

People living in Barking and Dagenham, City of London, Hackney, Havering, Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest can call 111 and select option 2, to get through to the service based in Tower Hamlets.

By dialling NHS 111 and selecting option 2, you will be connected to a team of fully trained and qualified mental health professionals. The team has a wide range of skills, including over the phone psychological support and has access to key services and organisations that can offer mental health support to people in their time of need.

If you use NELFT or ELFT services, you should continue to contact your service during working hours, from 9am to 5pm. Outside of these hours or if not used our services before, contact 111 and select option 2.
