Celebrating Allied Professionals Day at NELFT

AHPs are the third largest healthcare workforce in the NHS but the second largest professional group at NELFT.

AHPs’ Day, Thursday 14 October, is an annual opportunity for us to come together and celebrate being part of the AHP family, whilst also giving us an opportunity to showcase to our NELFT colleagues the impact we make to the delivery of high quality care. The collaborations we facilitate within our trust, but also across systems, regions and nationally enables:

  • Improved awareness of the nine allied health professions we have at NELFT
  • Showcasing the achievements of NELFT services and their impact on patient care and population health
  • Integrated working with other services and organisations

AHPs at NELFT have worked above and beyond over the course of the pandemic (like all our healthcare colleagues) and as the recovery picks-up, rehabilitation and holistic care is increasingly critical. Our AHPs find ourselves more in demand than ever, as our ability to add life to years becomes ever more a priority post-COVID. So on AHPs Day we want to encourage everyone to take a moment to think about all of the fantastic AHPs and consider showing them your appreciation.

Today for Allied Professionals Day, we will be showcasing the sheer breadth of AHP leaders we have here at NELFT accross our multiple services. Careers are varied and leadership is a central pillar of our profession. Take a look at the career paths of some of our AHP leaders below.
