The Coping Through Football team was pleased to attend the Disability Festival in the Park, a popular community event in Redbridge, where local organisations and residents came together for a day of inclusion, celebration and connection.
The event provided a valuable opportunity to meet members of the local community, raise awareness of the support available through Coping Through Football, and connect with other organisations working alongside people across Redbridge.
Occupational Therapist, Sonia Smith, and Coping Through Football Admin Coordinator, Andrea Shepherd, represented the service at an information stall, speaking with visitors about the programme and how people can access support through self-referral.
Sonia said: "It was a great opportunity to meet with potential service participants and discuss the self-referral pathways."
Events like this help the Coping Through Football team reach more people who may benefit from the service, while strengthening relationships with community partners who share a commitment to supporting wellbeing and social inclusion.
Coping Through Football uses the power of football to support people experiencing mental health challenges. The programme provides opportunities to improve wellbeing, build confidence, develop new skills and connect with others in a supportive environment.
The team would like to thank everyone who visited the stall and looks forward to continuing to engage with communities across Redbridge.
