NELFT is urging people to get winter ready and get protected with the flu vaccination and COVID-19 Autumn and Winter 2023 Booster.
The Flu and COVID-19 are different viruses that spread from person to person and could make you very poorly. Some people are at more risk than others.
You may be eligible for the Flu Jab and COVID-19 vaccine, if you are 65 years old or over, you have some health conditions, including respiratory conditions, diabetes, heart conditions, liver disease, some neurological conditions, a weakened immune system, and sickle cell disease.
Judith Lewsey, NELFT’s Flu Campaign Leader, said:
“The flu jab can help you and your loved ones get winter ready. It only takes a few moments to get vaccinated. Contact your GP, pharmacist or use the NHS app to book an appointment for your NHS flu vaccination. Stay well for winter and get your vaccine now.”
If you're eligible for an NHS flu vaccine, you can contact your GP surgery to book an appointment, find a pharmacy that offers NHS flu vaccination (if you're aged 18 or over) or book a flu vaccination appointment online or in the NHS App (if you're aged 18 or over). Some people may be able to get vaccinated through their maternity service, care home or their employer if they are a frontline health or social care worker. You do not have to wait for an invitation before booking an appointment.
For the COVID-19 Booster, you can book online or in the NHS App.
