North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT) is pleased to announce that Jan Ditheridge will join the Trust as Interim Chief Executive in early June, before the departure of current CEO Paul Calaminus, who will be joining South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust in July.
Jan is a highly experienced NHS leader with more than 20 years at Board level. Her career spans senior roles as Chief Nurse and Chief Operating Officer, and most recently 12 years as a Chief Executive. Since retiring from her executive career, Jan has continued to contribute to health and social care, including as a Non-Executive Director at Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Trust.
A dual-trained mental and physical health nurse, Jan has worked as a practitioner and leader across health and social care in the UK and internationally. Her clinical background is in accident and emergency and urgent care, while her leadership experience spans community, mental health and learning disability services across health and social care settings.
Jan Ditheridge said: "I am delighted to be joining NELFT on an interim basis and look forward to working with colleagues to support the Trust in continuing to deliver high-quality care for its communities."
Our Trust Chair, Eileen Taylor, said: "Jan brings a wealth of experience and a strong track record of leadership across the health sector. I am very much looking forward to working with her and know she will provide valuable expertise during this period."
Jan’s appointment will ensure leadership continuity while recruitment to the substantive CEO position is completed. A further announcement about this is expected in July.
