Knight & Turner Ward’s Easter Eggstravaganza!

On Wednesday 13 April, the OT teams across Knight and Turner wards at Sunflowers Court inpatient unit in Goodmayes, hosted an Easter celebration for all.

Turner ward’s OT played the role of 'Quizmaster' and kick started the celebrations off with a quiz. Service users were given 20 Easter/Spring themed questions and put into groups with a member of the multi-disciplinary team to support.

Whilst the quiz was underway, the OT Easter bunnies hopped around the ward hiding eggs for service users to find. During the hunt, service users were encouraged to work together to locateEaster eggs and to share their eggs amongst each other.

Once the Easter egg hunt was over, the OT team served delicious hot cross buns and a range of tasty pizzas. The celebrations ended with the service users being gifted a large chocolate Easter egg.  After this, staff and service users played some music and did some dancing together.

The OT team received feedback from service users:

“I’m happy you listened to the pizza suggestion I gave in the community meeting.” - Knight ward

“The chocolate was good.” - Turner ward

“I won the quiz so that was the best part.”- Knight ward

“It was a really fun day and took our mind off being here.” – Turner ward

This Easter Eggstravaganza was a truly memorable occasion for service users and staff members on both Knight and Turner wards.  Quiz sheet
