NELFT appoints new Associate Director of Social Work, Social Care and Carers

NELFT is pleased to announce the appointment of new Associate Director of Social Work, Social Care and Carers, Elizabeth Folarin.

With a diverse background spanning both local authority and healthcare settings, Elizabeth brings a wealth of experience to this role. Her most recent position was as the Deputy Head of Social Work at the Central and North West NHS Trust, where she played a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing social work services.

Elizabeth has over 15 years of experience in children and adults social care and safeguarding and her expertise encompasses a broad spectrum, including learning disabilities, substance misuse, physical health, mental health, hospital discharge, and immigration social work.

Elizabeth said:

“Currently, I am actively championing the incredible work carried out by social workers within NELFT. My passion lies in fostering the professional development of our social workers by providing increased opportunities for skill enhancement through research, continuous professional development, and employment prospects”.

“Throughout my career, I have consistently centred my practice around the voices of service users and their carers, ensuring collaborative and person-centred outcomes. I take pride in having worked closely with Carers Leads within the trust to initiate the development of a co-produced Carer’s strategy”.
