We are delighted to announce our interim chief executive, Professor Oliver Shanley OBE, will continue in the post until April 2021. As you will be aware Oliver joined the Trust in July 2019 in order to take on the role until the end of March 2020.

The extension of his role until April 2021 is positive news for NELFT as this provides the leadership team and the wider organisation with much needed stability, and enables Oliver and his team to continue the work and initiatives that have been put in place over the last six months.

Oliver is stepping down from his role as regional role as chief nurse with NHS London in order to continue as interim chief executive with the Trust.

Joe Fielder, NELFT chair, said: “I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the positive impact Oliver has made in such a short space of time and I am pleased that we are able to put plans in place for his leadership to continue. I know that Oliver is a valued leader within the London wide nursing community and I am sure he will continue to support the profession as he continues his role here at NELFT.”
