North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT) can confirm that Colin Lynch will be stepping down from his role as Vice Chair at the end of June, following his appointment as Joint Chair of Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust and Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Colin joined the NELFT Board in May 2021 and has held a number of senior non‑executive positions at NELFT, including Non‑Executive Director, Senior Independent Director and Vice Chair, contributing to the Trust’s governance and strategic oversight across mental health and community services. His time on the Board has included periods of significant organisational development and system collaboration, during which he has played an important role in supporting effective leadership and decision‑making.

Our Trust Chair, Eileen Taylor, said:

“I would like to thank Colin for his outstanding contribution to NELFT as a Non‑Executive Director, Senior Independent Director and most recently as Vice Chair. His experience, insight and commitment have been greatly valued by the Board, and his leadership in the SID and Vice Chair roles has helped us navigate both opportunities and challenges. On behalf of the Trust, I wish Colin every success in his next chapter.”

The process to appoint a new Vice Chair is underway.
