Well House, a 24-hour mental health crisis house in Redbridge recently celebrated six months since opening its doors with a summer BBQ for patients. The event brought together sunshine, good food, and a sense of community, offering a relaxed moment of connection for those receiving support at the house.
Opened in February 2025, Well House provides short-term support for people experiencing mental health crisis. Delivered in partnership by NELFT and Look Ahead, the service offers an alternative to hospital admission, with a trauma-and autism-informed, approach tailored to individual need.
Katie, who was recently supported by Well House, said: “The staff want to help you help yourself, they are very compassionate and will listen to you no matter what you want to talk about. If you are in crisis, they’ll listen and are always there to help.”
The BBQ was a chance to celebrate the progress made over the past six months, and to reflect the centre’s commitment to creating safe, inclusive spaces where people feel supported, not just clinically, but emotionally and socially. With support staff, clinicians, and peer workers on hand, the event captured the spirit of Well House: compassionate care and community connection.
