NELFT Trust Board

The NELFT NHS Foundation Trust Board of Directors has 13 voting members. Seven members, including the Chair, are non-executive members. They are appointed by the Council of Governors to provide an independent view to the work of the Board. Six members, including the Chief Executive, are executive members. They are in charge of the day-to-day running of the Trust.

Board meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of every other month in the Boardroom,Trust Head Office, CEME Centre – West Wing, Marsh Way, Rainham, Essex, RM13 8GQ. Board papers are available a week prior to the Board meeting and can be viewed here: Board papers

Navin was previously the Deputy Director of Finance & Corporate Resources for the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust and prior to that Associate Director of Income and Development at Sandwell & West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust.

Having professionally trained as an accountant in the West Midlands and worked in industry and commerce for 7 years, Navin began his NHS career in 2005 at the Health Protection Agency (now known as the UK Health Security Agency). Since 2005, Navin has operated at Deputy or Senior Finance level roles across a variety of NHS organisations whose services have covered ambulance, community, primary care, public health and acute provision, allowing him to gain a breadth of NHS commissioner and provider services knowledge.

Navin is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), a Qualified Institute of Leadership Management (ILM) Level 5 Coach and a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Specialist Interest Group for Collaborative and System working across the NHS.
