Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

How long is the appointment?

We only offer a 15-minute assessment appointment.

Do you have a car park?

There is a small car park, and disabled parking, so you can park free of charge.

What should my child wear?

This depends on the area to be treated. The child should dress comfortably on that day.

Do I need a referral?

You do not need a referral to attend the drop-in session.

Do I need my child’s red book?

No

How do I book an appointment for the drop in?

You do not need to book an appointment ahead of time, just turn up to the centre between 1-4pm.

What will happen when I arrive at the drop-in sessions?

On arrival to the centre, you will need to check in at the desk. You will be placed in a queue and provided with a questionnaire to fill out whilst you wait. Slots are provided on a first come first served basis so there may instances where you could be waiting for up to/over an hour. If maximum capacity is reached, you may be advised to attend a future drop-in session.

Can I bring my other children to the drop-in sessions?

We ask that you bring only the child that requires Physiotherapy advice wherever possible, as sessions are only 15 minutes.

What will happen after the drop-in session?

If it is determined that your child requires further sessions, we will open a referral and place you on our waiting list. If further input is not required, you will be discharged with relevant advice.

Will an interpreter be available for the drop-in sessions?

Unfortunately, we will not have any interpreters available as they need to be booked externally and in advance. You are allowed to bring someone trusted along with you to interpret if needed.

The above information is relevant for drop- in sessions only. If you have a referral the process is different.
