Nursing service - Child Development Centre (CDC)

The Child Development Centre is now temporarily closed until further notice due to COVID – 19. This is following guidance from the government, NHS England and the NELFT trust. If you have any questions please email and when normal service resumes someone will get back to you.

If you and your household is SHIELDING and you need support with medication or other provisions such as food, you can contact local authority on 020 8215 3000.


The CDC nursing team provides specialist support and assessment for children who meet the referral criteria of two or more areas of developmental delay, have complex epilepsy and/or disability.  These children will have a suspected or known disability.  

The nursing team works with the children's therapists, paediatricians, health visitors, school nurse's, education, social services, specialist hospitals, and other agencies to support the family and provide a multi-disciplinary approach centred around the child or young person
