Before your child’s first birthday you will receive an invitation to attend a one year developmental assessment with a Community Nursery Nurse.
At the appointment the Community Nursery Nurse will review your child’s health, wellbeing, development and complete a physical review which includes length, weight, head circumference, hip assessment & testes check (for boys).
A letter will be sent to you containing your appointment details and an Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ3) Parents are asked to take the time to complete these before attending the appointment with the Community Nursery Nurse. The ASQ is useful as it supports parents understanding of their child’s development and the expected milestones, they are to achieve between 8 and 12 months of age.
There are many ways you can support and encourage your child in their development, please look at the resources below for helpful suggestions and guidance.
