Transition to Parenting

Raising children can be difficult at times, and It is important to know support is available if needed.

While our community nursery nurses are on hand to give support and strategies, Health Visitors and school nurses work closely with the local authority/community solutions and the children centre who provide the following parenting sessions:

Incredible Years (Basic)

This is a 12 week programme is open to all parents and carers of children up to five years of age. It aims to help build parents confidence, support in coping with children’s behaviour and strengthen parents relationship with their child.

Strengthening Families Strengthening Communities

This 13 week programme is open to all parents and carers of children between the ages of 4-19 years. It aims to help strengthen skills and confidence, reduce any behavioural difficulties and support parents and carers to aim for a better future for their family and their community.

Triple P

This is a eight week programme, using group and individual consultation techniques, which are tailored to your individual needs. This is a programme that’s supports parents and carers of children aged 3-19 years and it is designed to prevent behavioural, emotional and developmental problems in children and young people by enhancing knowledge, skills and confidence of parents.
